The front cover for "The Time Machine" by H.G. Wells. The concept was an abstract, steampunk image involving clovks, that would fit the Victorian England and future time traveling themes of the book. Th ecover was made with two layers of copy paper and one layer of cardstock patterns, layered and photographed over a light box. Photo adjustments and cover compositing completed in Photoshop.

The inner cover was made using a similar technique to the front cover. Only one layer of copy paper and one layer of cardstock paper patterns were used for this image, and only went through minor adjustments in photshop, no compositing needed.

This was the initial design for the book jacket. Text was bit difficult to read. Some adjustments were made for the final product mockup.

A before and after image of my image editing process in Photoshop, which consisted of straigtening the photo with the Camera Raw filter geomentry tool, and adjusting the white balance.

A raw image of one of my assets on the light box. Not every pattern I prepared and photographed ended up beings used. In addition to paper cut outs, i also had a handful of metal gears that I would try to incorporate, but I ended up not liking most of the images that contained them. I also tried experimenting with mulberry paper as a background texture, but it was too much texture. The leaves and bit also did not fit the sort sci-fi steampunk aesthetic.
